Path of Play roots its foundation on THREE main pillars.
ONE mission statement
ONE core humanitarian project called THE PLAYROOM EXPERIMENT
ONE ongoing FUNDRAISING INITIATIVE
Within these three pillars, we facilitate the following initiatives through gaming:
THERAPY CENTRE & INNER-SCHOOL GAMING PROGRAMS
CONVENTION GAMING ACTIVITIES AND SENSORY FRIENDLY SERVICES
THE MISSION STATEMENT
To empower families living with autism through the world of gaming.
To create safe and inclusive spaces for everyone.
To provide individuals of ALL abilities with a lasting outlet for positive social interaction.
WELCOME TO THE PLAYROOM
The Playroom Experiment encompasses the Path of Play initiatives around a single question...
How can we use gaming to lift the lives of others?
All of our efforts in supporting this question centre on ideas that must be inclusive and repeatable.
Below is outline of what we do to sustain the Path of Play mantra.
FAMILY GAMING EVENTS
There are MANY families living with special who struggle to enjoy social circles in its purest form.
Sadly, this is because in far too many cases, their journey comes with judgement and ridicule. The outcome is complete detachment from the experiences many of us take for granted.
Path of Play works to change this by inviting these families to gaming events which serve them first. Any family is welcome however, because we strive to create spaces that are truly inclusive.
We are proud of this initiative because it becomes a wonderful way to build awareness and ultimately, acceptance.
THERAPY CENTRE AND
These programs really are the heart and soul of Path of Play, especially when it comes to the work we do in schools.
The reason? When you plant seeds with our younger generation, it paints a more positive picture for the future.
CONVENTION ACTIVITIES AND
SENSORY FRIENDLY SERVICES
Conventions are amazing experiences, but can easily become overwhelming.
Our sole priority at a convention is to offer quiet spaces for both gaming and down time. By working with organizations local to the event, we can provide families living with special needs a way to be part of these unique and memorable experiences.
We are currently partnered with The Origins Game Fair and making plans to be a part of PAX Unplugged 2020.
